Simon Pegg may have hit the pinnacle of nerd culture with roles in Star Trek AND Star Wars, but we will always love him best for his work with Nick Frost.
And now the Spaced pair are back together again for British horror comedy Slaughterhoues Rulez.
A group of school kids and teachers find themselves fighting for their lives after discovering a huge sinkhole in the woods that unleashes an “unspeakable horror”.
The monster movie has a Attack the Block vibe, if that film had been set in a posh boarding school rather than a south London tower block.
Michael Sheen and Pegg star as teachers, with their pupils including Asa Butterfield, Finn Cole and Hermione Corfield. We’re not sure what Frost is playing, but he seems like a cross between Hagrid and a drug dealer.
The movie is directed by Crispian Mills, best known as the frontman of Kula Shaker. Whatever happened to them?
Frost and Pegg haven’t worked on the same movie since The Boxtrolls.
Pegg recently shot down hopes of there ever being a Spaced reunion, claiming that “it couldn’t possibly ever exist again”.
“I dunno what I have to say that’s relatable about life now,” he said. “It’s not gonna happen, kids – unless you want a sitcom about some clueless actor who can’t tie his own shoelaces.”
Slaughterhoues Rulez will be released in the UK on October 31.
