Lucy Fallon made an 'awkward' appearance on tonight's Coronation Street for the first time since her exit was revealed.
The Bethany Platt actress announced she was leaving the cobbles on Thursday after four years on the cobbles.
The 23-year-old is the seventh cast member to leave this year and the third actress whose exit was revealed in the last three days.
Lucy, who won Best Dramatic Female Performance at last year's Soap Awards, was on screen on Friday night's first installment during a very awkward encounter in The Kabin.
Her popular character, Bethany, was paying at the counter when Chesney Brown came in to speak to Rita Tanner.
Concerned Bethany asked Rita if she was alright after noticing her reaction.
Chesney wanted to know where ex-girlfriend Gemma Winter was and admitted he may owe her an apology.
With a grin on her face, cheeky Bethany asked: "Oh, what have you done now?"
Realising it was not her place to ask questions, Bethany took her shopping and walked out of the shop.
Lucy is leaving at the end of her contract in 2020 and has denied rumours of a backstage rift.
Putting a statement on Twitter , she said: "After the most incredible 4 years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.
"It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me.
"I’ve made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I’ve had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I’ve laughed with the best people everyday.
"I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly.
"Thank you so much for your support and love… can't wait to see what's in store for Bethany this year."
Lucy said she decided to leave in August and was not influenced by anyone at Corrie.
She put her support behind show boss Iain MacLeod, who took over from Kate Oates in 2018, as she thanked Corrie staff and fans.
Taking to Twitter , she said: "Just to clarify, my decision to leave was made in August last year and has nothing to do with ANYONE at Coronation Street . I didn’t make it lightly and I am going to miss every single person there. Excited for my final year at the best place! Woo"
Lucy will be remaining on our screens until 2020 but is taking a break to go on holiday.
The actress posted a snap on Instagram on a sunbed ahead of a trip away for some sun and booze.
Alongside a photo of herself in shades and a polka dot swimsuit on a sunbed, she said: "Off on holiday on Saturday with some of my fave kidz. SUN N DAIQUIRIS is what I need right now #letsgochamp x"
*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm
