Jeremy Kyle show ‘suicide’ victim Steve Dymond to be buried at pauper’s funeral

Jeremy Kyle Show “suicide” victim Steve Dymond will be buried at a pauper’s funeral arranged by the local council.

There will be no music or readings at the committal, and only a handful of mourners are expected after he cut ties with family before he died.

Steve’s ex-fiancee Jane Callaghan told how an environmental health officer was arranging the burial as “no one else came forward”.

Jane, 48, got a call about the grave-side service, which will take place at a cemetery in Portsmouth on June 13.

Jane’s relationship with Steve was the subject of a lie detector test on the daytime TV show, which found he had been unfaithful.

She said: “I just got a phone call from the council to say they had arranged the funeral themselves because no one else had come forward.

“I will go with my daughter because I don’t want to regret it later but I still have very mixed feelings about it

“I’m still all over the place. I was told there’s only a couple of people who asked to be kept informed of the funeral. It’s sad it has ended like this.”

Steve, 63, was found in his bedroom on May 9, surrounded by drugs.

He had told his landlady he thought about “taking drugs on the way back from Manchester” having been at The Jeremy Kyle Show studios. The show was scrapped soon after his death.

DS Marcus Mills told Portsmouth coroner’s court the death was a “suspected suicide”. The inquest was adjourned until November 21.
