Producer Bellamkonda Suresh said he distributed ‘Rakshasudu’ film in Vizag and East Godavari regions and made decent profits from it. “This film was made with a budget of Rs 22 crore. In terms of business, Andhra, Nizam, Ceded rights were sold for Rs 12 crore, Hindi dubbing rights made another Rs 12 crore while satellite rights fetched Rs 6 crore. Totally the film did Rs 30 crore business before release,” said Suresh.
Adding on the 10th day of the theatrical run, ‘Rakshasudu’ entered the profit zone. The second-week collections of the film were better than first week which is quite surprising. “In Vizag, the film collected Rs 2 crore including GST whereas the rights were bought for Rs 1.35 crore. The rights were bought for Rs 81 Lakh and by yesterday, the film stepped into breakeven. Not just me, rest of the distributors too are making profits,” said Suresh.
He thanked the makers, technicians and is all praise of his son Sai Sreenivas. “With this film, Sreenivas proved that he is a terrific actor and I’m happy for my son,” said Suresh and concluded that if rains have not been there, the collections would have been more.
Hero Bellamkonda Sreenivas thanked the media and audience for ‘Rakshasudu’ a huge hit. “For any film to reach the audience, media plays a key role. I would like to thank media for their continuous support. I read the reviews and feedback. ‘Rakshasudu’ is a team effort and though it’s remake, we kept the soul of the original intact and just changed the sensibilities,” said Sreenivas.
