How Stacey Solomon’s furry bump has given away baby’s sex

Pregnant Stacey Solomon is expecting a baby boy if Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford’s research is anything to go by.

The ITV show host shared some medical info with her pal, after her recent Instagram post revealing she had “furry” baby bump.

Stacey who is expecting her third child, her first with boyfriend Joe Swash, asked her followers if they had experienced something similar during pregnancy, not sure what it was.

She explained: “I think I’m pregnant with a Furby I need to know… Did anyone else’s belly just suddenly become covered in fur?

"I'm not sure if you can see it but all of the grainy little lines are blonde hairs that I’ve never had before and now I’ve now started sprouting some lovely thick, wirey black ones around my belly button.

“I’ve always had my hair tummy snail trail which is a line of hair that practically goes from my cleavage all the way done to my hoo-ha but never an all over fuzz.”

Ruth had some news for her on the show on Wednesday, revealing she had an explanation for the hairy pattern across her belly.

She told Stacey: “It is very common, okay, so you don’t have to worry about it. It’s increased levels of hormones, estrogen in particular can cause hair to grow in unexpected areas.

“The hair growth should return to normal within six months after giving birth.”

Ruth then dropped a surprise, revealing the hair also gave a clue about the sex of her unborn child.

She said: “You know that old wives' tale, they say if you’ve got a hairy belly it means you’re carrying a boy,” with Stacey replying: “Does it?”

It comes after Coleen Nolan recently hinted her co-star was having a baby girl in an interview, saying “she”.

Meanwhile, it’s thought Stacey and Joe already know the gender of their baby, but are keeping it to themselves for now.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
