Gal Gadot shows support for young schoolboy dressed as Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot has shown support for a young boy who decided to go to school in Wonder Woman get-up.

It comes in response to an article by the boy’s mother, Katie Alicea, on Romper entitled ‘My Son Is Busting Gender Stereotypes, But I’m Nervous For His First Day Of School’.

In it, she details how her son picked a Wonder Woman backpack for school, and while she loved the idea, she was hesitant towards the prospect of him being teased.

“I admittedly have some fear for my sweet Isaac. For how the world can treat someone who doesn’t easily fit into stereotypes or who blazes their own path instead of following everyone else,” she wrote.

“After he chose the Wonder Woman backpack, I asked if he was sure, not because the backpack bothered me, but because I imagined Isaac being made fun of at a new school when he has been so desperate to make new friends.”

However, Alicea added that she and her husband have “worked hard” to make sure her children “are able to follow whatever interests them regardless of stereotypes or gender roles”.

Posting a screencap of the article, Gadot tweeted her own support, writing: “Just read this article about breaking gender stereotypes by Katie Alicea.

“Such an important topic and something I believe in so strongly. I hope Issac [sic] wore the crown and his WW backpack proudly to school. #WonderBoy.”

We guess Gadot truly is a real life superhero.

The next chapter in the saga, Wonder Woman 1984, will be released in US and UK cinemas on November 1, 2019.
