EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer is making an explosive return to Albert Square.
The 46-year-old actress will reprise her role as Bianca Jackson for the third time in 25 years after a five-year break from the BBC soap.
Patsy joined the cast in 1993 and rose to fame through her character's roller coaster relationship with Ricky Butcher, played by Sid Owen.
EastEnders have told Mirror Online that Patsy will be back for a dramatic short stint later in the year.
Executive producer, Jon Sen, said: "When I joined the show in January, bringing Bianca Jackson back to the Square was high on my wish-list.
"I'm thrilled to announce that Patsy’s agreed to return to reprise her iconic creation in a blistering storyline that will grip fans this autumn.
"There is no one more excited than me to see her step back into Albert Square again. I simply cannot wait."
Patsy will be filming in the coming weeks and her scenes will air later in the year.
Bianca will be back in Walford to see her troublesome daughter, Tiffany, who was embroiled in a drug gang earlier this year.
More than 22 million viewers tuned in to see Bianca and Ricky get married in 1997, becoming one of the biggest soap audiences in history.
Patsy left EastEnders to spend more time with her family and to focus on other projects in 1999.
The actress made a brief return for a two-hour special in Manchester, called EastEnders: Ricky and Bianca, back in 2002.
Patsy made a full-time comeback in 2008 despite publicly criticising the soap and stating she would never return.
She then decided to leave in 2014 to pursue projects in the USA, including DJing.
*EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm
