A Breaking Bad movie is in development. Reportedly, it will be based on Aaron Paul's character Jesse Pinkman and will be a sequel to the AMC show.
Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad.
On Wednesday, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Vince Gilligan is all set to write, produce and possibly direct a Breaking Bad movie. Now Slashfilm reports that the movie will continue the story of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) after the events of Breaking Bad’s final episode, ‘Felina’.
If you saw the show, its finale had Walter White (Bryan Cranston) saving his former partner-in-crime from neo-Nazis led by Michael Bowen’s Jack Welker. After it was all over, Walt was mortally wounded and asked Jesse to shoot him, but he did not. The last we saw of him, Jesse was driving away from the spot.

Meanwhile, Bryan has confirmed that a Breaking Bad movie is indeed in development. While talking to Dan Patrick in his show, Cranston said, “Yes, there appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad, but honestly I have not even read the script,” Cranston said. “I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script. There’s the question of whether or not we’ll even see Walter White in this movie. Think about that one.”
On being asked whether he would be interested in reprising the role of Walt, Cranston said, “I would, I would. Absolutely. If Vince Gilligan asked me to do then absolutely. He’s a genius. It’s a great story and there’s a lot of people who felt they wanted to see some kind of completion to these storylines that were left open and this idea, from what I’m told, gets into at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.”
But if the movie is indeed on Pinkman, then having Walt in it is out of the question unless in flashbacks. Breaking Bad was based on Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher, and Jesse Pinkman, a small-time drug peddler and Walt’s ex-student. The duo join forces to create a drug empire when Walt is diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
