Vijay's Sarkar shoot halted in Las Vegas as mark of respect to late DMK leader M Karunanidhi

The demise of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi has sent the state of Tamil Nadu into mourning. His mortal remains have been kept at Rajaji Hall and we saw how stalwarts like Rajinikanth came and paid their last respects to the screenwriter turned politician. The whole of Kollywood is mourning his demise given his contribution to the industry and the state. The team of Vijay’s Sarkar, which is presently shooting in Las Vegas had cancelled shoot for a day as a mark of respect. As we know, today is a holiday in the state. The 94-year-old politician breathed his last at Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital on Tuesday evening after being critical for 11 days. He reportedly passed away due to multi-organ failure. On August 1, Vijay had visited the ailing politician at the Kauvery Hospital. Even Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan paid him a visit. Vijay spoke at length with his sons MK Stalin and Udhaynidhi Stalin. Sarkar is an action-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss. They have done Thuppakki before. The film ran into controversy as the poster showed Vijay holding a cigarette between his lips. Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and Tamil Nadu Health Department reacted on the same.
