DMK president and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi passed away at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday evening. He was 94.
High drama followed his death as the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu refused to allow his cremation at Marina beach in Chennai as demanded by DMK supporters. DMK supporters then knocked the doors of the high court late on Tuesday night, which deferred the hearing to 8am today.
