Eastern Railway shocks holder Kerala
Tamil Nadu women crushed Maharashtra 97-60 after leading 50-25 at half time in the semifinals of the 33rd Federation Cup basketball tournament on Saturday.
Except for the third quarter in which it showed some resistance, Maharashtra was no match for the all-round efficiency of Tamil Nadu.
In the other semifinal, Eastern Railway beat holder Kerala 98-81, after leading 52-34 at the break.
Kerala missed the services of P.S. Jeena, who is in Australia. It was an all-round performance by Eastern Railway with every player scoring a bunch of points.
In men’s section, Income Tax, Chennai, was overwhelmed 99-51 by Indian Army in a last-four clash.
In the final, Army will face favourite Punjab Police, which beat Guru Gobind College, Chandigarh 101-65.

Women: Tamil Nadu 97 (Dharshini 19, Sathya 16, Sreevidhya 14) bt Maharashtra 60 (Sruthi Aravind 21).
Eastern Railway 98 (M.J. Libina 28, Poonam Chaturvedi 26, Sitamani Tudu 21, Madhu Kumari 15) bt Kerala 81 (Stephy Nixon 23, P.S. Neenu Mol 18, P.G. Anjanna 13, R. Sreekala 13).
