A 55-year old man was injured when his car rammed into a police bus, parked outside the Kerala Raj Bhavan, on Monday. The incident occurred at around 8.45 a.m. when President Ram Nath Kovind, who is on a three-day visit to the State, was in the Raj Bhavan.
The injured, identified as Bharath Chandran of Thamalam, near Poojappura, is suspected to have lost control of his vehicle as he was driving along the Kowdiar-Vellayambalam stretch. The bus had been parked a short while earlier to transport police personnel who were been deployed in the area as part of the security arrangements in view of the President’s visit.
The motorist was soon removed from the car and shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital here. He is believed to have sustained significant head injuries. The car has been towed away by the police.
