Malayalam superstar Mohanlal lands in legal trouble for endorsing a textile brand

It seems that Malayalam Superstar has become one of the controversial personalities in the recent times. After grabbing headlines for supporting actor Dileep, the Drishyam actor has landed in legal trouble for endorsing a textile brand. The Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board has sent a notice to Mohanlal for misleading the people through the advertisement. As per the board, the actor is seen spinning a charkha in the ad, which is a symbol of freedom struggle and can’t be used to sell a textile. The board has even requested to pull out the advertisement from the television.

Shobana George, the president of The Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board told to a news agency, “Legal notices have been issued to both the textile group and Mohanlal. There is no connection between the charkha, which is a symbol of the freedom struggle, with the textiles sold by the group.” (Also Read: Kayamkulam Kochunni trailer: Nivin Pauly’s rugged avatar and Mohanlal’s charismatic presence are the highlights of this magnum opus; watch video)
