TRS rebel leader Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali are to back to Congress fold. The former minister and Warangal East MLA Surekha and MLC Konda Murali have rejoined Congress in the presence of AICC President Rahul Gandhi. Soon after lashing out at KCR, the couple left for New Delhi on Tuesday night and met senior leaders who have given their go-ahead for their re-entry.
While Konda family is seeking three tickets to contest polls, Congress party said to have not given any confirmation on the other two tickets. The party told that Konda Surekha’s constituency Warangal East would be confirmed to her.
Since Konda couple have good hold on 5 seats in the district, Congress party got a new boost with their joining. The Congress leadership told Surekha that the party will allot only one seat and the demand for one more seat will be considered only after consulting with the local leaders.
Konda couple wants to field their only daughter Konda Susmita from Bhupalapalli Assembly constituency which is being represented by TRS leader and current Speaker Madhusudhana Chary. Apart from this, Surekha is also said to be asking one more ticket for her husband Murali which is optional.
With the joining of Surekha into Congress, the fight between TRS and Congress gets intensified.
