In PHOTOS: The haunting memories of 9/11

We bring you images from the under construction 9/11 MemorialMuseum at the WorldTradeCenter site in New York. The museum is scheduled to be opened to the public in the spring of 2014.

The museum will tell the individual stories of the 2,977 people killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93, as well as the six people who perished in the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The museum will display artifacts of intimate to monumental scale — from a wide range of personal items donated by victims’ families in memory of their loved ones to multiple objects salvaged from the wreckage of the World Trade Center, says Museum Director Alice Greenwald.
