Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’ ex manager Karishma Prakash’ pre-arrest bail plea in a drug related case has been declined by a special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act court on 5th August. However, the court allowed the alleged accused to approach the Bombay High Court till 25th August 2021.
After hearing extensive submissions by both defense and prosecution, the special Judge VV Widwans rejected the plea made by Karishma. The report mentioned that the court stayed the order till 25th August allowing Karishma Prakash to approach the Bombay High Court.
Karishma had been granted the interim relief from arrest until now by court. Her lawyer Abaad Ponda sought this time so that Karishma Prakhash could file the appeal in the high court against the lower court order. She will have to keep appearing before NCB investigating officer once a week until then.
In the month of October last year, Karishma Prakash had filed an anticipatory bail application before the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act court. Karishma made the plea fearing arrest in the drug case probe.
It is known that Rhea Chakraborty , Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, and many others were summoned for questioning in the drugs case related to Sushanth death case.
