BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa has written to the Chief Election Commissioner of India requesting him to appoint Central observers for three Lok Sabha constituencies — Mandya, Hassan, and Tumakuru. These are the constituencies from where H.D. Deve Gowda and his grandsons are contesting. In the letter, Mr. Yeddyurappa said Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, “with a track record of mis-utilising official machinery”, will likely do so in these three constituencies. He has alleged “many hurdles were created on the day of filing nominations by Independent candidate Sumalatha in Mandya”.
