3 from Jharkhand held on charge of killing man, son

The Guntur Urban Police claimed to have cracked the murder case of a father-son duo at Nidamarru village with the arrest of three drivers employed by them.

Superintendent of Police, Guntur Urban, Ch. Vijaya Rao said Vemula Lakshmaiah and his son, V. Suresh, who hailed from Mellavai village in Nalgonda mandal of Ranga Reddy district, bought an earthmover and secured a sub-contract of laying of seed axis roads in the Capital region. They hired Nageswar Kumar Bhokta, Dehuri Aravind Ganju and Giraj Ganju from Jharkhand to handle the earthmover. Lakshmaiah and Suresh reportedly suspected the drivers of siphoning off diesel from the vehicle and selling it outside.

When they confronted the drivers, the latter reportedly nursed a grudge, and on December 14, the three accused allegedly struck the father and the son with iron rods and later buried the bodies in a field. They had used the earthmover to dig the ground and bury the bodies.

As the father and his son did not return home, his wife Vemula Kalamma and her two sons rushed to Mangalagiri and registered a police complaint.

The police on suspicion dug up the field where the earthmover was abandoned and found the bodies. The accused were later arrested in Jharkhand and brought to Mangalagiri.

The SP announced rewards for those who investigated the case.
