Managing Director, Patra BPO Services & Chairperson of Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh, M. Lakshmi on Thursday highlighted the need for women to develop the culture of courage to encounter difficulties they face . She made this observation while speaking at the Women in Public Sector (WIPS) Formation Day organised in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, here.
Addressing the women employees of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited RINL, the corporate entity of Viskhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), she suggested that women must learn to negotiate with the situation to emerge successful, citing that the government policies for women empowerment were yielding good results.
‘Focus on learning’
“India has a young population and the next generation women will play a dominant role in various fields. Women workforce has been increasing rapidly in the country since 1990s,” she pointed out. .
RINL-VSP Director (personnel) K.C. Das exhorted the women employees to work with commitment and focus on learning . Later, Mr. Das released the annual newsletter ‘Disha’ being brought out by the WIPS-VSP, on the occasion.
V. Padmavathi, DGM(HR) & Co-ordinator of WIPS read out the annual report, highlighting the achievements of women employees of RINL and their activities. Debasish Ray, Executive Director (Personnel & IR), R.V. Rao, GM(HR) and Honorary president of WIPS, senior officials and women employees were present on the occasion.
