Tributes poured in from various quarters in memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away on Thursday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Secretary G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, State spokesperson Samanchi Srinivas, zonal incharge Jally Madhusudhan, former State President Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy and district office-bearer K. Ajay Kumar offered floral tributes to his portrait at the Nalugukalla Mandapam junction on Friday.
They called him a “tireless warrior” who strived to guide the present generation of leaders across the political spectrum. He commanded respect of even his detractors for his soft approach and affable nature, they said.
Former Assembly Speaker Agarala Eswara Reddi, the Chairman of the Madabhushi Ananthasayanam Institute of Public Affairs (MAIPA), said the former prime minister was a “great bonding factor” among divergent political ideologies.
He said Pandit Nehru in the Parliament hailed him as the only person after Syam Prasad Mukherji to have the potential to become the prime minister. Dr. Reddi called Mr. Vajpayee’s flair for poetry and ghazals as a rare quality for an otherwise busy politician.
