Chief Minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday launched the membership drive of the party.
Mr. Naidu said he dropped the idea of calling YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy following the latter’s accusations against him. Mr. Jagan’s had alleged that the Chief Minister was the prime accused in the attack on him. He was accusing the government without rhyme and reason. The government had nothing to do with the attack. “But the YSRCP and the BJP are accusing me as A-1, which is uncalled for,” Mr. Naidu said.
The accused himself was saying that Mr. Jagan would get sympathy with the attack. The TDP would have bagged all the YSRCP MP seats if the by- elections were conducted, he said.
Referring to membership drive, Mr. Naidu has asked the party cadres to pay the membership fee on their own. The Centre was resorting to arm-twisting tactics ever since the TDP pulled out ofs the National Democratic Alliance coalition government at the Centre.
“There were no IT raids as long as there was an alliance between the TDP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The IT raids have become the order of the day no sooner the TDP broke the alliance, he reiterated.
The TDP came out of the NDA as injustice was being meted out to the State. Notwithstanding the evil designs of the Centre and opposition parties, the State government succeeded in its endeavours, he added.
