State of river responsible for flooding, says MLA

The state of the Kallai river and Conolly Canal was responsible for causing flooding in Kozhikode, M.K. Muneer, MLA, has said.

The huge logs of wood deposited at the bottom of the river hindered the efforts to dredge it and the officials concerned were disinterested in the project, leading to the floods, Mr. Muneer said.

He was addressing a public get-together.
