Activists of the CPI(M)-led Andhra Pradesh Agricultural Workers Union and Kula Vivaksha Porata Sangam(KVPS) staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Monday protesting against the alleged increase in attacks on Dalits and minorities under the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Agitators, led by APAWU Prakasam district secretary K. Anjaneyulu and KVPS District secretary K. Raghuram, raised slogans against the BJP, which they claimed, had created conditions leading to religious intolerance, which had fuelled atrocities against the groups which felt more insecure now.

They also raised slogans against the TDP government in the State for allegedly usurping lands of Dalits under various pretexts.
Dalits of Devarapalli were going around court as cases were ‘foisted’ on them for protesting against the loss of land assigned to them during the Indira Gandhi regime, they added.
