The CDS also contributed Rs. 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s distress fund.

The Muslim Educational Society (MES) is planning to undertake relief work worth Rs. 2 crore in all the disaster-hit districts. They will construct houses for those who have lost it, repair those that have been partially damaged and distribute study materials to students who have lost theirs. MES Medical College will provide medical care as well. The MES institutions have cancelled their Onam-Bakrid celebrations this year and have decided to contribute the funds earmarked for the same for relief activities.
