Members of the Kalyan Karnataka Pratyeka Rajya Jagruti Samiti, who was detained by police before staging a protest demanding statehood, condemned the action of the police.
M.S. Patil Naribol, samiti president, on Friday alleged that even though they had taken permission, the the police detained him at around 6.30 am on Thursday. On August 6, the samiti will launch a signature campaign to elicit public opinion on carving a separate state of Hyderabad Karnataka.
