Rich tributes were paid to Telangana ideologue Prof. K. Jayashankar on the occasion of his 84th birth anniversary across the State on Monday.
In a statement, recollecting Prof. Jayashankar’s contribution to the Telangana movement Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the former would find a permanent place in the history of Telangana as it was he who had strived hard for spreading the spirit of the movement.
Paying tributes to Prof. Jayashankar, the Chief Minister said the remarkable progress made by the State in all spheres of life in the 50 months of its existence so far was a real tribute to the departed soul.
In Telangana Bhavan, the headquarters of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) a large number of party activists gathered and paid floral tributes to Prof. Jayashankar. Deputy Chief Minister Md. Mahmood Ali and Ministers Nayini Narsimha Reddy and T. Srinivas Yadav and GHMC Mayor B. Rammohan led the partymen in paying tributes.
Kavitha in Delhi
In Delhi, Telangana Rashtra Samithi MPs led by B. Vinod Kumar, K. Kavitha and K. Prabhakar Reddy, special representative S. Venugopalachary, Karimnagar Zilla Parishad Chairperson T. Uma, Telangana State Public Service Commission Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani and others paid tributes to a portrait of Prof. Jayashankar at Telangana Bhavan.
They recollected his contribution to the Telangana movement.
Several ministers including Deputy Chief Minister K. Srihari, Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Forests Minister Jogu Ramanna, Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy and others paid tributes to the Telangana ideologue in their native districts.
