Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar invoked preventive detention act against a 24-year-old property offender in Afzalgunj police station area.
The accused, Shaik Shoukath, a painter from Hafeez Baba Nagar in Chandrayangutta, was committing theft of mobile phones, by diverting attention of passengers in autorickshaws along with his associates in the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate to make easy money, Mr. Kumar said. Shoukath committed 23 offences in Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits, creating panic among people travelling in autorickshaws.
