In the first ever GST fraud case to be recorded from the State, the intelligence wing of Central Excise on Monday arrested K.U. Nishad, a resident of Perumbavoor.
Sources said the case pertained to the alleged use of fake invoices of transporting plywood. Nishad, who owns Wood Tunes at Perumbavoor, was among those suspected to have duped the government of taxes to the tune of Rs. 5 crore, sources said.
