A four-day training programme on ‘earthquake risk mitigation and management’ is being organised by National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) under Union Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, Andhra University, from Monday.
The event will be organised at the seminar hall of Civil Engineering Department and the workshop is aimed at exposing the practicing engineers, architects, planners, administrators and faculty involved in teaching and research in earthquake risk mitigation.
About 16 technical sessions and one field visit are scheduled to train in earthquake hazards, risk mitigation and management. It will provide inputs for earthquake resistant design, construction and also retrofitting of structures.
