Naidu target of attack at YSR Cong. ‘deeksha’

Launching a no-holds-barred attack on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP former MP Y.V Subba Reddy on Thursday alleged that Mr. Naidu had destroyed the institutions of police, revenue, judiciary and even the office of Governor in his quest for power.

Mr. Subba Reddy, along with his erstwhile fellow MPs, who resigned from over denial of the Special Category Status, and senior leaders held a day-long protest — Naya Vanchana Deeskha — to highlight the alleged failure of the TDP government in addressing the problems of people. In a symbolic gesture, all the leaders and party supporters wore black shirts. “This CM, who now claims that he is fighting with the Centre for getting the SCS, had done nothing in the last four years. Had he joined our fight, it could have forced the Centre to give the SCS,” said Mr. Subba Reddy. Referring to the defections of 23 party MLAs to the TDP, party senior leader Tammineni Sitaram said: “We had gone to the Governor assuming that he would at least restore values in democracy, but what happened? Four of these MLAs were given Cabinet berths. People are waiting to teach the TDP a lesson.”
