Former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president V.M. Sudheeran has blamed the LDF government for creating a situation that enabled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make political mileage out of the Keezhattur agitation against the controversial alignment of the Taliparamba bypass.
Mr. Sudheeran said he agreed with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s stand that Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari had gone against the federal principles by holding discussions directly with leaders of the agitation at the behest of the RSS leadership in the State, without even inviting State government representatives for the meeting.
The State government’s failure to address the fair demands of the people of Keezhattur and its stubbornness and position against public good had delivered the issue into the hands of the Centre.
