KCR-Modi meeting was political: Congress

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is trying hard to legitimise his “secret ties” with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In statement issued here on Monday, he described Mr. Rao’s recent visit to Delhi as “purely political tour” which has no iota of benefit for the people of Telangana. He pointed out that out of the 11 memoranda reportedly submitted by the Chief Minister to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the meeting on August 4, 10 were copies of old memoranda submitted by him in June this year.

“Except for adding a memorandum on increase in reservation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, all other issues, including seeking funds for Kaleshwaram, approval for new zonal system, bifurcation of the High Court, seeking defence lands, railway projects, IIM, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalasays and funds for ITIR are old,” he noted.

Poser to CM

Instead of questioning the Prime Minister for inaction on the memoranda submitted on various issues in June, the Chief Minister simply submitted fresh copies 10 memoranda afresh, the TPCC leader said and demanded that the Chief Minister clarify on what actually had transpired between him and the Prime Minister on August 4.
