The biggest challenge for the Karnataka State Open University will be to win back the trust of students, who are anxious after the University Grants Commission (UGC) de-recognised the university in 2015.

, Vice-Chancellor D. Shivalingaiah said: “Once the recognition is back, it will be a morale booster for us and will restore the trust among students in us. UGC’s consent will itself act as a confidence building exercise. After going through years of scrutiny and fulfilling all conditions, I don’t think there is anything to doubt about and students can keep confidence on the university.”
