Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Periye here has been chosen as venue to host cricket matches to select the team to represent Hyderabad region in the national cricket tournament scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 28.
Around 400 budding talents from 50 schools in Kerala, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh and Telangana will vie for their place in the team.
The three-day meet will be inaugurated on Saturday by former Ranji player C.T.K. Usman at the function, chaired by Additional District Magistrate N. Devidas.
The programme will felicitate P.J. Joseph , school physical education teacher, who is due to retire from service shortly. K.M.
Vijayakrishnan, Principal of the JNV, will address the function.
