Four cases of sexual assault on minor girls were reported from different parts of the city on Saturday. The incidents involved girls aged 3 years, 7 years, 13 years and 17 years in the Chaderghat, Chatrinaka, Tukaram Gate and Shamshabad police station areas.
Chaderghat inspector G Ramesh said that a three-year-old girl was raped by her uncle in Dayanandnagar on Saturday afternoon. The accused Anjappa (30), a watchman of an under-construction residential complex in the area allegedly raped his cousin’s daughter after taking her inside his room. The girl’s father had entrusted her custody to the accused while going to pick up his elder daughter from school. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, a rape case and sections of POCSO Act were invoked against the accused and he was arrested.
In the second incident, a roadside food joint owner sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl in Saibaba Nagar under Chatrinaka police station area. On Friday evening, the accused Alagarswamy (40) took the victim inside his house and raped her, said Inspector K. Manoj Kumar.
A 13-year-old girl was repeatedly raped by her uncle in the absence of their family members on Wednesday and on July 23 at his residence in Tukaram Gate here. The accused Kamadri Amarender, an autorickshaw driver, is a resident of Waddera Basti in Tukaram Gate.
In another case, the Shamshabad police on Saturday arrested the Headmaster of a Government Primary School in Muchinthal Syed Akbar (55) for kidnapping and raping a 17-year-old girl.
