Eight govt schools to get a facelift

In support of the constituency-level schemes, the district panchayat too has come up with a separate infrastructure development project for eight select schools in Kozhikode district.

The financial aid of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) will be used to implement the scheme.

District panchayat president Babu Parassery says the eight schools will get new buildings with international standards after demolishing the existing ones. KIIFB will spend Rs. 40 crore for the project, he adds.

The government schools at Meppayur, Naduvannur, Payimbra, Kunnamangalam, Chathamangalam, Kuttiyadi, Valayam and Panur are the beneficiaries of the special project. Efforts are on to complete the building works within a year.
