Disabled allowed for Haj: Centre

The Centre on Thursday told the Delhi High Court that it has made changes in the Haj policy and allowed differently-abled people to also perform the annual pilgrimage.

Centre’s counsel Ajay Digpaul told the High Court that only people with serious illnesses, like cancer or tuberculosis, were barred from the pilgrimage.

The amended policy has made it clear that “physical disability of a person will not be construed as an adverse physical health.”
