Differently abled man on solo mission to create awareness on road safety

Prince Durai, a differently abled man from Coimbatore, on Monday commenced his solo car drive aimed to create awareness on road safety and the Clean India Mission. The ten-day solo drive will travel 3,000 km covering more than 40 cities and towns in Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Durai, a pharmacist, is also an active member of the Para Volleyball Association of Coimbatore. He is driving a modified car accelerator which can be operated with the right hand.District Collector T.N. Hariharan flagged off the awareness initiative on the Collectorate premises. Members of the Para Volleyball Club accompanied Mr. Durai for some distance.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Durai said that arrangements for the awareness drive was realised with the support of Rotary Club of Coimbatore East.

Mr. Durai has also stored saplings in his car which will be planted and distributed in places covered by during his awareness drive.
