Even as the Rafale row is taking the country by storm, leaders of the APCC gear up to hold a demonstration at the Lenin Centre at 10.30 a.m. here on Monday.
Former Kerala Chief Minister and Congress party in-charge for Andhra Pradesh Oommen Chandy, APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, AICC secretaries, former Central and State Ministers, and senior PCC leaders will participate in the protest. The protest will be followed by the party’s coordination committee meeting at 11 a.m., which will be dovetailed by the APCC orientation programme.
Meanwhile, former Minister C. Ramachandraiah lashed out at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for trying to “shift” the blame on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the court summons to him in the Babli case.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Ramachandraiah said Mr. Naidu should know that all are equal before law. He said the Chief Minister should not politicise the judicial system. The Congress leader said bureaucrats were a harassed lot under Mr. Naidu’s rule. He said Mr. Naidu was responsible for the “inflated” costs of projects and works being taken up as part of the development process.
Pointing to the fact that CAG had faulted the State government on many fronts, he demanded that Mr. Naidu give an answer to them.
Mr. Ramachandraiah said all departments had weakened due to “political corruption.”
