Cong. for fresh probe into Sripada Rao murder

District Congress Committee official spokesperson Sashibushan Kache has urged the State police authorities to conduct a fresh inquiry into the killing of former Assembly Speaker D. Sripada Rao as the culprits involved in the killing were not punished in any court of law.

Mr. Sashibushan Kache submitted petitions to DGP and IG (intelligence) in Hyderabad on Friday and a copy of which was released to the media here. He said Sripada Rao was killed by Maoists (the People’s War Group) on April 13, 1999 at Annaram village of Mahadevpur mandal of erstwhile Karimnagar district. The then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had ordered a high-level inquiry into the killing at that time. The police conducted inquiry and filed chargesheet in the court stating that the Maoists had committed the offence.
