Labour Minister Pithani Satyanarayana on Sunday said all signboards, of small and big businesses, would carry names written in Telugu language soon.
He was speaking at a meeting organised in connection with presentation of the annual Sri M.V.Krishna Rao International Cultural Award, given by the Potti Sriramulu University, Hyderabad.
This year, the award has been bestowed on Telugumalli, an online portal for Telugu-speaking people of Australia and New Zealand, for its untiring work in spreading the Telugu language and culture. Advisor to Telangana government for Cultural Affairs K.V. Ramanachari said proposals for promotion of Telugu language were seldom implemented. He said both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should effectively implement such proposals for promotion of Telugu.
Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Mandali Budha Prasad listed out the names of the recipients of the award in the past.
Director and Editor of Telugumalli Mallikeshwara Rao thanked the university authorities for the award, which, he said had only further increased its responsibility. Playback singer P.
