AIADMK flays govt. over unfulfilled poll promises

AIADMK leader A. Anbalagan on Tuesday slammed the ruling Congress for not fulfilling any of its electoral promises.

Addressing a press conference here, he said none of the promises made during the elections have been implemented in the last two years. He said several assurances given by the Ministers on the floor of the house and at public meetings have remained only on paper.

The AIADMK leader said there was no coordination between Ministers. This has resulted in the non-implementation of welfare schemes like pension for the differently abled, widows and old age people, he said.

The public anger against the government would be soon visible in the coming parliamentary elections.

The Congress-DMK alliance will lose the elections very badly if the ruling combine failed to fulfil the assurances given to voters, he added.

He also flayed the Assembly Secretariat for not implementing the recommendations of the legislative committees, including the Estimates Committee headed by him.
