The Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Academy of General Education (AGE) concluded on Saturday with Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, who is also a former president of AGE, reminiscing about the life and works of the late T.M.A. Pai and the values he practised to remove, ill-health, illiteracy and poverty. “The AGE institutions therefore, are a boon to society,” he said.
According to a statement issued by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Dr. Heggade was honoured with the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to society. Speaking after receiving the award, he said, “Everyone should practice ‘dharma.’ Treading a path against it for selfish gains will only hamper progress.”
H.S. Ballal, president, AGE, also Pro-Chancellor of MAHE, spoke about the history of the educational institutions founded by Dr. Pai. Rajendra Kumar, Post Master General (South Karnataka Region) released a special postal cover to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of AGE.
