Urging Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to address the issue of unemployment in the State, freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy, along with activists S.R. Hiremath and Raghavendra Kushtagi, actor Prakash Raj, and writer Devanuru Mahadeva have written to him seeking his intervention.
In the letter, they have urged Mr. Kumaraswamy to set up interactions between government officials and activists and organisations working towards the cause. They have also raised the problems faced by contract workers in government departments — of irregular pay and lack of job security, asking the Chief Minister to immediately focus on addressing the issue. “Even after your government has come to power, in some departments, contract workers are being fired and not being paid for several months,” the letter read.
