We’d asked you, dear readers, to tell us about your most expensive meal.
Here, Mumbai-based Rediff reader Mihir Shah, 42 shares his experience:
On October 31, 2019, we had a glass of Rose Falooda at Taj Hotels, Gateway of India, Mumbai which was charged Rs 885 (with taxes).
Unfortunately, I don’t have bill with me.
We’d imagined it (falooda) to be special, but it wasn’t.
It wasn’t served in a special glass.
There were no dry fruits; the dressing was also ordinary.
It was as normal as the falooda we have at Sukh Sagar in Chowpatty which is priced below Rs 200.
Dear readers, when was the last time you ordered something at a fancy restaurant and paid a princely bill?
What did you order and what was the bill amount, including service charges and taxes?
Did you feel the bill amount was justified?
How did you respond?
Did you pay the bill or take it up with the management?
Please share your learnings and experiences with us.
Simply write to firstname.lastname@example.org (subject: My Most Expensive Meal) along with your NAME, AGE, LOCATION and a photograph of the food and bill, if possible. We’ll feature the best responses right here on Rediff.com.
