Tributes pour in for Masterchef judge Jock Zonfrillo after unexpected death age 46

TV chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver have led those paying tribute to Masterchef Australia judge Jock Zonfrillo, who passed away unexpectedly at age 46 over the weekend.

The late TV star's death was announced by his family, who shared that their hearts had been "shattered" by the loss.

The statement reads: "With completely shattered hearts and without knowing how we can possibly move through life without him, we are devastated to share that Jock passed away yesterday."

Since the announcement of Jock's passing, tributes have been pouring in across social media, with Gordon Ramsay leading the way as he tweeted: "Saddened by the devastating news of Jock Zonfrillo's passing.

"I truly enjoyed the time we spent together on MasterChef in Australia. Sending all my love to Lauren and the family in this difficult time Gx"

Jamie Oliver, who recently filmed episodes for Masterchef Australia with Jock, shared a photo of himself and Jock, alongside the show's other two judges Andy Allen and Melissa Leong.

Paying tribute to the late TV star, Jamie wrote: "I’m in total shock to wake up to the sudden death of chef Jock Zonfrillo. We had the best time working together for this years master chef, I can’t tell how good it was to work with him!

"Jock was very generous to me with his time and spirit in the show and for that I was really grateful…Mellisa, Andy & Jock work as the most inspiring judges and mentors and each have there very own unique view and style…

"Jock will be so very missed…I can’t believe I’m writing this…….Sending heart felt love and condolences to all of his family, friends and his second family the master chef team and contestants xxx. Love jamie"

Celebrity chef Matt Moran also shared a tribute to Jock, as he shared a picture of his late pal, which he captioned: "I’m lost for words, a great mate for over 20 years and one of the best chefs I have ever known. Absolutely heartbreaking. Thoughts are with Lauren and his family. We'll miss you chef."

Masterchef India judge Kunal Kapur took to Twitter to share a tribute to Jock, writing: "It is with a heavy heart that I write today to express my deepest condolences on the passing of #JockZonfrillo.

"His sudden departure from this world has left us all in shock and disbelief. @Zonfrillo As a fellow chef, I had the privilege of working alongside Jock and getting to know him personally.

"He was a kind and generous soul, always willing to share his knowledge and experiences with others. His talent, creativity, and infectious energy will be sorely missed in the kitchen and beyond."
