Strictly’s Giovanni tells Rose ‘I love you’ after powerful dance to celebrate deaf community

Strictly Come Dancing’sGiovanni Pernicesaid “I love you” to dance partnerRose Ayling-Ellisafter the pair performed their much-praised Couple’s Choice dance routine on Saturday night.

Rose, as the first deaf contestant to feature in the series, paid tribute to the community with Giovanni by including a “special” silent moment during their dance to the unawareness of the judges.

Met with standing deaf applause by the audience in the studio, the pair looked beyond happy with each other after their routine as leftover confetti continued to fall around them, shortly followed by Giovanni saying “I love you” to Rose.

This comes weeks after the professional dancer’s public split with Love Island star Maura Higgins, who thought he was “the one” during their four-month relationship.

Since the break-up, Giovanni has put his focus heavily into the BBC dance competition and partner Rose – who has impressed viewers with not only her dancing skills, but her chemistry with the Italian mover.

"Sorry but Rose and Giovanni need to get married, it’s a must #Strictly," one person said after Saturday’s performance.

"The way Gio looks at Rose. That man is smitten #Strictly,” tweeted another.

"#Strictly @bbcstrictly btw if Giovanni is not in love with her, I will eat my hat! He could not stop kissing her head and looking so lovingly at her. I loved tonight’s show,” one viewer commented.

The Strictly pair performed to Clean Bandit’s Symphony and are now tipped to win the show this year after receiving such a positive response from the judges and the audience weej after week.

“Reach for the stars and glitter ball,” a fan of the show tweeted on Saturday night, one of many hoping that the duo take home the trophy.

Giovanni wasn’t the only one clearly in awe of his partner, as Rose had great comments to give the professional dancer after their successful routine.

“I feel very, very thankful for your determination to make this dance the most positive, happy dance it can be because you know that being deaf, there's nothing wrong, it's such a joy to be deaf and I think that says a lot about you as a person,” she said.

Giovanni also reflected on the performance later on in the show, adding: “It was just wonderful, the whole week. What the judges just said, it's exactly how I feel every single day when I walk into the room.

"The positivity that she gives to me every single day is just out of this world.

"So, I'm the one who is very thankful to you so thank you so much!"
