Fans have reacted to the hilarious moment when Riz Ahmed had to read out the title of a short film called My Year of D**ks as he announced the Oscar nominees on Tuesday.

The British actor and rapper, 40, was at the official ceremony alongside Allison Williams to announce those movies and stars nominated and was given the task of saying the funny film name.

Among the nominees for Animated Short film was the film My Year of D**ks directed by Sara Gunnarsdóttir and created and written by Pamela Ribon.

After the read out the title he appeared to sound a flustered as the audience listening were heard chuckling away in the background, prompting a laugh from him also.

Those watching the live stream have reacted in their droves with one saying: ‘Riz Ahmed reading My Year of D**s is a top 5 moment of all time.’

Another said: ‘How can i make riz ahmed saying ‘my year of d**ks’ my ringtone? is there video too? #OscarNominations2023.’

My Year of D**ks is a 2022 American animated short film directed by Sara Gunnarsdóttir, created and written by Pamela Ribon. 

The film was based on Pamela Ribon’s comedic memoir Notes to Boys: And Other Things I Shouldn’t Share in Public.

It comes as all the other Oscar nominations were revealed on Tuesday afternoon.

Top Gun: Maverick has been nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture, in a sign that Hollywood is finally listening to audiences and honoring box office hits instead of arthouse favorites.

The movie starring Tom Cruise is nominated along with Elvis, Avatar: The Way of Water, All Quiet on the Western Front and The Fabelmans.

While Cruise missed out on a nomination for Best Actor, the nomination for Best Picture could bring him his first Academy Award.  

Everything Everywhere All at Once won ten nominations and The Banshees of Inisherin won eight nominations. The two films swept the Golden Globes earlier this month.

Elvis, by Baz Luhrmann, won seven nominations, including one for Austin Butler.

Best Actress at the Oscars will be a toss-up between Cate Blanchett in Tar and Michelle Yeogh, who won the award at the Golden Globes for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once. 

Ana De Armas also won a nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde.  

While Cruise missed out on a nomination for Best Actor, Austin Butler (Elvis)  Brendan Fraser (The Whale) and Bill Nighy (Living) all received nods. 

Moving on! The pair swiftly moved on to the next category to announce after the hilarious moment

One film that received no nominations was The Woman King, starring Viola Davis. 

All Quiet on the Western Front, a German-produced film, won multiple nominations, as did Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, including Best Original Song.

Angela Bassett is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and as is Jamie Lee Curtis for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The awards ceremony will be hosted on March 12 by Jimmy Kimmel.
