New mum Molly-Mae says ‘nasty’ backlash over baby Bambi’s name is ‘really hard’

Bambi Fury just made her debut on her mum Molly-Mae Hague's newest Youtube video.

On Wednesday, Molly-Mae, 23, uploaded her first YouTube video since becoming a mum and decided to tell her followers about her birth story, while also introducing baby Bambi to her YouTube subscribers.

The new mum introduced her daughter in the video saying: "Will you say 'hi everyone, I'm Bambi. Nice to meet you. I'm Bambi Fury, that's my name. I know some people may not like it, but I love it.'"

She went on to explain that the day she and Tommy announced her name was "a really really hard day" and she decided to turn off the comments on the post due to the backlash.

"I think I was just brought back to planet earth very very quickly of how nasty this world can be.

"And I think because we had literally always had known that our first baby girl was going to be called Bambi, we had gotten so used to the idea of that being her name and to us, it wasn't really that unusual anymore.

"I know it is definitely unusual and unique and not going to be of everyone's taste, so when we announced it, in my mind I was just like 'it's beautiful, it's just her. She's Bambi and that's just this beautiful name, and it's amazing.'

"And then two seconds after posting it, I was like 'oh my god'."

A few days after announcing the birth, Molly-Mae announced the name on Instagram with a photo of the nursery, featuring a piece of wall art with the moniker.

In the caption, Molly-Mae simply added: "Bambi", along with a white heart emoji.

Her little girl is seen lying in her cot in her super stylish nursery, alongside a Bambi teddy bear from the iconic Disney movie.

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona said in her weekly column: "Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury announced the birth of their daughter last week. It’s lovely news, but I must admit I’m not a fan of the name.

"I think Bambi Fury sounds a bit ridiculous. It reminds me of the Disney film where the mother gets shot! The poor kid might get some stick in school."

Kerry then added: "If they haven’t registered the name yet, maybe they should consider changing it. But each to their own…"

It comes after Molly-Mae revealed that she'd had the named picked out for several years and revealed it was a "different" name and that her fans might "hate it".

She told her fans during a Q&A on her YouTube channel back in October last year: "Yes, we do have a baby girl name picked out. I've had the name picked out since I was basically a baby girl myself.

"It's always been my dream little girl name and luckily when I met Tommy and I told him the name that I'd always dreamt of using, he absolutely loved it too.

"It's a really really unusual and a different name, I do not know anybody else with the name."
