Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have finally announced the name of their son and its Archie Harrison Mountbatten – Windsor. The couple made this announcement on their Instagram account, where they posted an adorable picture and wrote, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor”.
Meghan gave birth to a healthy baby boy on May 6 and post that various names like Arthur, James, Philip and Albert were predicted but finally, the couple announced the name as Archie Harrison Mountbatten – Windsor. According to ABC, The Duchess of Sussex described becoming a new mother as “magic”. She also added, “It’s pretty amazing and I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy,” the beaming 37-year-old said. Speaking in St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle as her husband held their two-day-old child, Meghan also revealed that “He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.” As they both laughed, the new to parenthood father said, “I don’t know who he gets that from.” Baby Sussex was born at 5.26am local time (2.26pm AEST) on Monday, weighing in at seven pounds, three ounces (3.26kg).
Earlier, an ecstatic Prince Harry was seen telling reporters later that the “mother and baby are doing incredibly well… How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there.” Harry further said. “I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.” However, the prince mentioned that they were “still thinking about names” for their baby which has been “a little bit overdue” and that they would have an announcement in “probably two days time.”
